We attended the 2008 MLB All-Star Game in New York. The pre-game party was on Randall’s Island. This NYPD Mounted Police Officer looked to me like a General directing the Army from his horse.

MLB Power Rankings: AJ Burnett and the League’s 15 Most Unpredictable Hurlers

MLB Power Rankings: AJ Burnett and the League’s 15 Most Unpredictable Hurlers
You’re sitting at home watching the ball game and a pitching change is made. They bring in your team’s closer and you hold your breath. “Please let him get the last out, that’s all I ask” you say as the count runs full. I’ll let you finish this one as a half glass full or empty type of person but we as baseball fans dread this moment. The moment when “that guy” on your team toes the mound either …

MLB Predictions: Naming Robinson Cano and the AL East Preseason All-Stars
For all the statistics we pore over as baseball writers and fans, the most definitive marker of a team’s performance is that final won-loss record after 162 regular season games.  From that kind of “bird’s-eye view,” it’s easy to see that the American League East features the best collection of players of any division in the game.  While AL East teams don’t always win — or even reach — the …

MLB Rumors: Armando Galarraga Traded to Arizona Diamondbacks
MLB Rumors: Armando Galarraga Traded to Arizona Diamondbacks After the Detroit Tigers decided that Armando Galarraga was not going to fit in the rotation after the signing of Brad Penny, it was only a matter of time before he ended up in another one. This was the view on the way to my seats at the 2007 MLB Baseball All-Star Game. Beautiful view of the Bay Bridge that connects San Francisco to Oakland and the East Bay. At the right is Treasure Island / Yerba Buena Island. You can see the tents for the official MLB festivities at Pier 32.

“ICHIRO” – The MLB Leadoff Star

“ICHIRO” – The MLB Leadoff Star
MLB

Today (July 11th in Pittsburgh, USA) is the MLB 2006 All-Star Game ^o^

The Seattle Mariners’ outfielder #51 ICHIRO was named to his 6th consecutive All-Star Game as a leadoff man.

Since he joined the MLB in 2001, he has recorded his 5th consecutive 200-hit season,
collected his 5th straight Gold Glove,
and scored 100 runs for the 5th straight year.
He is the 1st player in MLB history to record at least 200 hits in first 5 seasons.

Here are the two 4.5 cm fuigurines of ICHIRO, my favorite baseball player, from my MLB collection :)

P.S. The 2 figurines of ICHIRO are so tiny that I had to use my Fuji FinePix to take the photos. Nokia 6230i can’t take macro pictures.

MLB Breaking News: Carl Pavano with Minnesota Twins Remain

MLB Breaking News: Carl Pavano with Minnesota Twins Remain
It’s official: Carl Pavano will remain with the Minnesota Twins for now after this evening of the signing of a two-year contract worth $ 16,500,000. This step was crucial for the Twins. The twins, who won the American League Central in 2010, would have significantly reduced their playoff hopes Pavano had signed elsewhere for 2011. In 2010, the Twins ranked 16th Place overall in ERA from the pitchers …

MLB Predictions: 10 Aging Stars Who Will Have Huge Seasons
Vladimir Guerrero hit .300 last year with 29 home runs and 115 RBI. He made the All-Star team, and for the first few months of the season, he looked like an MVP candidate. At 35 years old, coming off one of the worst seasons of his career and plagued by injuries, few could have predicted such a comeback season from Vlad. Still, would should have more seriously considered the possibility of a …
